The Sheffield-Iraq campaign (aka Sheffield Campaign Against War in the Gulf) began in 1998 in response to the threat of U.S. bombing at the time. Since then we have organised various street protests and stalls and have also organised our own visit to Iraq in November 2000.
We are no longer meeting as a group because the Sheffield Stop the War Coalition has taken over as the main conduit for protest against a war on Iraq in Sheffield.
However this site is still useful for photos from our trip to Iraq (click delegation) and other resources we can provide, plus information on action you can take, and an updated links page.
For information on protests and anti war activities in Sheffield see the coalition web site: www.sheffieldagainstwar.org.uk.
If you'd like to be kept informed about what's going on and/or join in discussions with others then feel free to join the Sheffield Iraq discussion list: just send a blank e-mail to:
sheffield-iraq-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Note that the Sheffield Stop the War coalition also has two email lists, one low volume announcements only list whilst the other allows discussion list for all members. More details at their site.
